Product Summary:

Product Name: Nonyl Phenol Ethoxylates (4 to 50 Moles)

Category: Non-Ionic Surfactants / Specialty Chemicals

HS Code: 340242

Product Summary:

Nonyl Phenol Ethoxylates (NPE) are non-ionic surfactants synthesized by the ethoxylation of nonylphenol (C9H19C6H4OH). With ethoxylation levels ranging from 4 to 50 moles, these surfactants exhibit excellent emulsifying, wetting, and dispersing properties. The lower mole grades (4-10 moles) are more lipophilic and are used for oil-in-water emulsions, while the higher mole grades (20-50 moles) are more hydrophilic and find applications in water-based systems.

Used in industrial and household cleaners, textiles, agrochemical formulations, paints, coatings, emulsifiers, and oilfield chemicals.

  • Additional Information

Nonyl Phenol Ethoxylates are synthesized through the ethoxylation of nonylphenol with ethylene oxide (EO), where the number of ethylene oxide units (ranging from 4 to 50) directly influences the surfactant’s hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB).

Due to their non-ionic nature, NPEs offer stability and compatibility across various pH environments and in combination with both anionic and cationic surfactants. These surfactants are known for their stability and compatibility with a variety of formulations and can be used in combination with both ionic and non-ionic surfactants
